The European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) is one of the financial instruments of the cohesion policy of the European Union whose aim is to strengthen the competitiveness and attractiveness of European regions, to promote employment and to develop training activities. The FEDER program promotes investment and helps reduce imbalances between regions of the European Union. Research, innovation, environmental issues and risk prevention are priority areas for FEDER funding. The Ecotron Ile-de-France is supported by the FEDER program from the Région Ile-de-France for the acquisition and instrumentation of the Ecolab equipment since 2012 (grant 2012-3). The FEDER program is also funding specific experiment such as the project TalVeg coordinated by the company Valorhyz in Montpellier.
